Exam imposters are charged

In the Kisii case, Mr Nyaitage, aged 19, was arrested at Nyakome Secondary School on October 21, as he allegedly attempted to do the exam for a candidate.

Mr Kaburi Henry, his lawyer, applied to be supplied with witness statements before the hearing of the case set for November 25.

Mr Nyaitage was released on a Sh100,000 bond and a surety in the same amount or cash bail of Sh20,000.

Elsewhere, angry Form Four students who were barred from sitting for the KCSE examinations at Blue Light Academy in Gucha District on Friday stormed the compound to demand a refund of the money they had paid.

The students, accompanied by their parents, almost delayed the start of the examination.

The 22 were locked out on Wednesday when their names were not found in the register.

Five of them have recorded statements at the district criminal investigation office.

Deputy DCIO Obed Mulunga said the school’s proprietor has gone into hiding.
