It is now evident that the blood of the late slain Nyamira based freelance journalist Francis Kainda Nyaruri is haunting Nyamira Town Council where the master minders of his assassination and subsequent death are alleged to have been based.

Two quick incidences are  a pointer, first Nyamira District Commissioner last week locked out councillors from their offices and the council’s clerk have demanded for his immediate transfer saying his life is in danger and he has been threatened with lynching as his name has been adversely mentioned in regard to the late Nyaruri.

The DC later deployed administration police officers to guard the block until two rival factions resolve their differences.However Councillors Nelson Onduko and John Onchiri who claims legitimacy to the leadership of the council says that the DC is interfering with the matter which was before the court,a fact the DC denied.Meanwhile Nyamira County Clerk has gone underground for fear of his life.

George Onyango, the clerk has not reported for duty for close to five months since his life is in danger.

Earlier local leaders had blamed him for the death of a freelance journalist the late Charles Nyaruri.

The mutilated body of Nyaruri was found damped in Kodera forest in Rachunyo weeks after he went missing.

Nyanza Provincial Local Government Officer Isaac Kirui yesterday confirmed that Onyango has not reported to work for many months for fear of his life.

Kirui said in Kisumu that Onyango had expressed fears over his life following the brutal murder of Nyaruri by unknown persons.

The PLGO said that he had written a letter to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry requesting that Onyango is posted elsewhere other than Nyamira.Kirui said that Onyango has vowed not to set foot in Nyamira lest he is killed by local civic leaders who have been baying for his blood.

In a separate development Kirui denied that he has been meddling in the affairs of Nyamira County Council.He said what he did was to declared an illegal annual general a nullity.Kirui said a civic leader who was de- gazetted was the one involving him in the said scam.
