South Mugirango MP James Omingo Magara who became the second MP in the Grand Coalition Government to lose his seat through a petition put up a brave face despite the predicament that befell him.

Magara remained confident terming the decision a minor political setback that would not ruin his political career.

Addressing his supporters outside the Kisii High Court, Magara said the development was a ploy by a few people to deny the wishes of the people of South Mugirango.

"I will not be shaken. This is a minor set back but you can never and will never stop somebody’s luck. Our resolve and determination to change South Mugirango and this country won’t stop and God will take us there," Magara said.

The trade assistant minister said he was confident the people of South Mugirango will go to the polls and shame "the devil" by voting for him overwhelmingly.

"These are people who came to seek the mandate to lead from the courts. Courts cannot elect you. You have to face the people", he said adding that he was confident of a win.

He claimed the success of the petition was a ploy by people out to curtail his political ambition to assume high office in the country.

The petitioner Manson Oyongo Nyamweya, (Kanu) said the ruling was the will of God saying he was looking forward to the by election.

"I thank God for the ruling. It reflects the will of God and the people of South Mugirango who will now have a fair chance to elect a leader of their choice," said Oyongo.
