3 Held On Robbery Spree In Marani

THREE men have been arrested over a series of robberies in Marani. Kisii deputy police chief Manasseh Musyoka said the three were arrested after they robbed several businessmen and a school at Isecha trading centre.
He said they robbed the businessmen of money and other valuables before heading to Gamba Secondary School, where they tied and beat up a watchman. Speaking to journalists in his office Musyoka said they launched a major operation after a distress call and arrested the suspects.
He blamed the victims for. negligence saying they had failed to engage watchmen to guard their business premises. He said the school had engaged one watchman who was ill equipped to effectively repulse the raiders.
In Gucha, relatives of a woman found dead after disappearing for several days have demanded an independent investigation. Led by Nyaribari Chache MP Robert Monda, the residents asked !o police to speed up investigations.
