Musila, Ex-MPs Cases Yet To Reach High Court

CASES filed at Milimani magistrate's court against MPs accused of receiving allowances illegally have not been transferred to the high court as directed last month by a judge.

And yesterday, another judge ordered for the second time that the files be transferred to the high court. Lady Justice Kalpana Rawal made the order after she was informed that the files were still at Milimani. The judge issued the directions during the mention of a case filed against Defence assistant minister David Musila.

Musila's case and those of the legislators were lodged by the Kenya Anti Corruption Commission. On February 17, high court Judge Aggrey Muchelule directed that the cases at the chief magistrate's court Milimani be moved to central high court registry so that they are determined jointly with that of Musila.

The former MPs sued are Norman Nyaga (Kamukunji) Jimmy Angwenyi (Kitutu Chache), John Sambu (Mosop) and Dr Abdullahi- Ali (Wajir North).

Nyaga is said to have received ShS.6 million while the others allegedly got Sh2.8 million each.
