Teen on trial over defilement

A teenager appeared before a Gucha court and denied defiling a three-year-old girl. Dadusi Nyamechi Mwambi, allegedly committed the offence on October 15, at Botabori sub-location in Gucha South within Kisii County.

He was charged with intentionally and unlawfully defiling the child before Ogembo Principal Magistrate Lily Nafula. Mwambi faced an alternative count of committing an indecent act with a child, which he also denied. The prosecution indicated it would call five witnesses to testify in support of the charge. Nafula released the accused on Sh100,000 bond with a similar surety but he failed to raise it and was remanded at Manga Juvenile Home. The case will be mentioned on October 29 and heard on November 10.
