Woman beheaded on her way home

A middle-aged woman was beheaded as she walked home at Gionseri village in Nyamache. Jackline Moseri’s body was found along a footpath, 600 metres from her home on Saturday evening.

The husband Moseri Maroma said he had talked to her 30 minutes earlier after she called asking him to go and pick her up as it was getting late.

A woman passing said she saw three young men carrying machetes running away from the scene.Gucha deputy OCPD Julius Kyumbule led a team of police officers to the scene and accused residents of failing to give information on criminals.

The body was moved to Ram Hospital mortuary in Kisii.

Last month, a matatu tout was hacked to death at 7pm as he walked home at Kebuko, near Nyamache town. Police are yet to arrest the killers. Meanwhile, a five-month old infant burnt to death after a bed in which he was sleeping caught fire at Boigesa village in Nyamache district.
