The Constituency Development Fund Board is investigating complaints of misuse of millions of shillings in 21 constituencies. A progress report prepared by the CDF Complaints and Arbitration Board says the complaints were received between August and November last year.

The investigations signal renewed efforts by the CDF board to ensure that billions of shillings disbursed to Kenya’s 210 constituencies every year to spur development do not go to waste. The board has also put on notice CDF constituency committees that do not involve all the stakeholder in the identification of projects for funding. From the Kisii region, West Mugirango is being investigated for misuse of funds.
