Retired Teacher Killed in Kisii

A retired teacher was at the weekend shot dead in front of his wife at their home in Magenche shopping centre in Kenyenya district. Nicodemus Ondara, 58, and his wife Concepta Mogoi were walking home when they were ambushed by a gang of three men armed with AK47 rifles.

He was shot in the head and stomach and robbed of Sh90,000 which had been collected at a fundraiser for the burial of a neighbour, Rose Omani.

Bomachoge MP Simon Ogari and Magenche councillor Henry Onditi condemned the attack which occured near a police post. Police chief Richard Ng'etich said no arrests have been made.
