Church Under Construction Collapses in Nyamira Town

A church building that was under construction in Kitutu Masaba constituency Nyamira County has collapsed due to poor workmanship. A church under construction in Nyamira collapsed yesterday. Getare SDA Church in Kitutu Masaba collapsed on Sunday afternoon following heavy downpour.  Joash Onyonka, a member, said Sh2.5 million had so far been used."This is a big loss to us because the church was being built through members contributions. We don't know what to do by now but we hope God will open a way for us," Onyonka said.

He claimed that the building tumbled because of poor workmanship by the contractor calling on the Ministry of Public Works to help investigate the matter.

Last month, Public Works PS, John Lonyangapuo met contractors from across the country in Nairobi and warned that they will have to meet costs whenever projects they are working on collapse.
