Teacher, 38, Found Dead

A secondary school teacher who went missing five days ago in Gucha has been found dead. Richard Mwebi's body was found trapped by the banks of a river five kilometres from his home in Kenyenya district.

The 38-year-old father of three, who was a teacher at Nyakoiba secondary school, went missing last Thursday. He was last seen drinking at a chang'aa den.

Following the teacher's killing, villagers set ablaze the house and other property of the woman operating the chang'aa den. Gucha police chief Richard Ng'etich said the teacher was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped in the river. He said a man who was last seen drinking with the teacher is helping them with investigations.
