KANU secretary general Nick Salat yesterday asked the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission to probe alleged mysterious loss of Sh8 million from party bank accounts.
Salat said he had written to KACC requesting that the cash disappearance be investigated but had not received a response.
Salat was speaking at Nyaimera Secondary School in South Mugirango Constituency where he presided over a fund-raiser for the school. He also asked party chairman Uhuru Kenyatta to declare whether he is in Kanu or PNU adding he will be discussed at a national executive committee meeting in August.
He said Kanu will field a presidential candidate in 2012 elections and had so far received four applications from interested candidates.
Salat was accompanied by various Kanu branch chairmen Dickens Warentho, Charles Akiva, Apande Makambo and Councillor David Rotich alis Big 5.
Salat added that the Kisii and Kipsigis should cultivate peaceful co-existence.
