Warrant of arrest: Gesami sought for misuse of CDF

Public Health assistant minister James Gesami is under siege after high court issued a warrant of arrest against him. Mr Gesami who is ailing at Nairobi’s Karen hospital on Sunday decried police harassment saying he has ‘not seen any warrant of arrest’ and police should stop harassing him and his family.

The West Mugirango MP claimed his life is in danger after heavily armed police detectives raided his rural home on the early hours of Thursday last week.

“I have not seen any arrest of warrant from anybody…I was admitted here on Thursday night,” Gesami told Sunday Nation.Mr Gesami claimed about 12 heavily armed police officers ransacked his home at Simbauti in Borabu district, apparently seeking to arrest him.

The assistant minister said the ‘intruders’ harassed his ailing mother and a house-help during the raid. The high court directed freezing of the West Mugirango CDF account after a group of constituents claimed the kitty was being misused.

The MP has already moved to court to have the order lifted.
