Omwando to Face Juma in Nyanza South

Campaigns for the forthcoming football elections in Nyanza South branch have intensified with candidates traversing the region in search of votes. Former Shabana FC chairman Peter Omwando has declared his intention to gun for the chairman's seat.

He will challenge Alfred Juma, who is the current Football Kenya Limited (FKL) Nyanza South branch chairman.

The secretary Johana Omare will face off with Evans Omari , who was endorsed by a section of Kenya Football Federation officials, during a meeting in Kisii town. The officials also backed former top referee Samuel Omwoyo for the post of senior vice chairman. Jared Nyauma will seek Nyamira sub-branch chairmanship.

Omwando, Omari and Nyauma who are in KFF have also backed Sam Nyamweya for the national chairmanship. "We have unanimously agreed to support Nyamweya for the national seat," said Omari, a secondary school teacher after campaigning in Nyamira. FKL's Juma and Omare held separate campaigns in Kisii and Rachuonyo respectively.
