DCs deny meddling in Kitutu Masaba by-election

THE provincial administration has dismissed allegations it interfered in the recent Kitutu Masaba by-election. Manga DC Onesmus Kyatha and his Masaba North counterpart Solomon Abwaku said they did not meddle in the polls. ODM’s Timothy Bosire had accused the two  of participating in rigging and vote-buying.

Kyatha said the allegations are misplaced adding that the election was free and fair. “The claims that provincial administrators did any malpractices during the poll are misplaced. I was moving around with the British Envoy on that particular day and I did not even have time to vote,”Kyatha said. “Our role was to provide security and I’m happy the people conducted themselves with maturity,” he added.
