Shabana trials at Gusii attract Gekomoni and Mokorogoinwa

MORE than 38 players are currently undergoing trials to join Shabana FC ahead of the Western Zone Nationwide Division One League this season.  The trials at Gusii Stadium have attracted school boys from national secondary schools champions Gekomoni and former champions St. Marks Mokorogoinwa. “We have a mixture of both youth and experience to pick from,” said acting club secretary Henry Nyaberi. “I want to announce today that the original Shabana is back and we are targeting  a place in the Kenya Premier League next season,” said Nyaberi.

He said the players will be trimmed to 25 once contract forms are ready. He appealed to players keen to join Shabana to turn up for trials at Gusii Stadium daily. The development comes a day after their sister club Gusii Shabana United threatened to seek legal redress after they were excluded from the league. “It is unfair for the FKL to exclude us from the league. We are going to do everything possible to ensure we participate in the league,” said club secretary Paul Ochora.
