Police can arrest Gesami

The police was yesterday given by the High Court the go-ahead to arrest Public Health assistant minister James Gesami over alleged misuse of constituency development funds. This follows the dismissal of a petition by the MP which sought to lift an arrest warrant and prosecution. High court judge Mumbi Ngugi dismissed Gesami’s application saying he failed to table enough evidence to prove claims that his rights had been violated. A warrant of arrest against Gesami was issued in July 2011 at the Kisumu magistrate’s court following an application by the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission.
