Gesami, Bosire get ODM top positions

Assistantminister James Gesami and businessman Timothy Bosire were yesterday elected asODM chairmen for West Mugirango and Kitutu Masaba respectively. Gesamifloored his only opponent Meshack Mochoge to win the seat while Bosire waselected unopposed. Gesami andBosire were late yesterday expected to fight out for the Nyamira branchchairmanship. Veteran politician David Mainga was elected Bosire’s vicechairman.
In NorthMugirango Borabu, Zachary Nyayiemi was elected unopposed after former assistantminister Joseph Kiangoi, was thrown out of the election venue. He wasthrown out by police during repeat polls at Viongozi Pastoral Centre after hestormed the venue. In therepeat polls, Zachary Nyayiemi was elected chairman unopposed while StephenNyakeriga took the post of secretary. Former councillor Charles Sagwe waselected treasurer. The electionwas repeated after Nyayiemi protested, saying the exercise was marred bymalpractices.
However,Kiangoi insisted he was the bonafide elected chairman in the election that waspresided over by Dennis Ooko.The branchreturning officer Doris Odhiambo ordered a repeat after she established thatsome delegates were not genuine. Otherselected in West Mugirango sub-branch were Alfred Mokong’u (Vice Chairman), StanleyNyakundi (Secretary), Kennedy Oindi (Assistant Secretary), Lois Mayaka (Treasurer), Serebina Nseka (AssistantTreasurer), Peterson Agwata (Organizing Secretary), Ziporrah Morara (WomenRepresentative) and Robert Apiemi (Youth Representative). Gesamicalled upon those who were defeated to join hands with the winners tostrengthen the party in West Mugirango.
