Gusii's first attempt at protest blocked

A lawyer-written letter by Gusii Shabana United FC to Football Kenya Federation [FKF], protesting the club’s exclusion from the Division One league, was rejected by Secretary General Lodvick Aduda.

-We had our club lawyer draft a letter to the federation but the CEO said that they [the federation] could only accept communication from the club’s direct administration only, Mike Odongo, a representative of the Don Bosco foundation, sponsors of the club, toldFutaa.com.

-We obliged but on condition that the letter signed by the club chairman will be filed alongside the one done by our lawyer.

-We will be forwarding the two on Monday 30 January and hopefully, we shall see progress in the case.

Gusii Shabana, who played in the Football Kenya Limited [FKL]-run Nationwide Division One, learned early in the week that they had been substituted in the Western Zone of the second tier league by Shabana FC, a team they say did not take part in any competitive tournament in 2011.
