Bosire ready for Kitutu Masaba ODM polls

KITUTUMasaba Orange Democratic Movement chairman Timothy Bosire yesterday said he was ready for the Nyamira county elections slated for Monday. “I respectthe decision by the National Elections Board to order a repeat of the countyelection and I’m ready for the exercise,” Bosire told the Star. “I’mconfident the delegates will confirm me on Monday,” he added.

The boardordered a repeat of the polls after Public Health assistant minister JamesGesami raised complaints over the manner in which the exercise was conductedlast Sunday.

The North Mugirango/Borabu election will alsobe repeated tomorrow, according to the board's chairman, Phillip Okundi. Former areaMP Joseph Kiangoi protested to the board after he lost to Zachary Nyayiemi inrepeat polls. The board hasmade an about-turn and ordered a repeat in Gwassi sub-branch tomorrow.

Stakeholderswill meet over the matter today at Magunga shopping centre, according to a statement from theboard. ODM executive director Janet Ong’era called on party members andsupporters in the two sub-branches to maintain law and order during theexercise. She said ODM shall ensure the exercise is free and fair.

Okundi urged all the players in the two sub-branchesto adhere with rules and regulations and the elections code of conduct. He said the returning o for the respectivesub-branches will take them through the electoral process and read to them theelections code of conduct and party guidelines and rules with the aim ofensuring a level playing ground during the exercise.
