Gusii leaders want Moi to lead peace talks

Gusii leaders have asked former President Daniel Moi to spearhead unity talks among the Kalenjin and Gusii communities residing along the Nyanza/Rifty Valley border. The leaders including ministers Prof Sam Ongeri (Education), Chris Obure (Public Works) an Nyaribari Chache MP Robert Monda said that frequent conflicts among the Kisii and the Kalenjin Communities were hindering positive development.

Speaking at the Gusii Stadium during a fundraiser in aid of the South Nyanza SDA headquarters, where the former president was the guest, the leaders said that it would be prudent for Moi to chair the talks as a former states man.
