Jilted KCSE candidate commits suicide in Gucha

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education candidate has committed suicide after reportedly being dumped by his lover in Gucha district. Dennis Isaboke’s body was found dangling from at his  home  on Saturday at Oroche village. Isaboke wrote a suicide note to his lover who is a student at the same school saying he had decided to commit suicide after she jilted him.

In the note, Isaboke said the girl had left him due to irreconcilable differences and did not see the reason to continue living. Isaboke, an orphan, was the head of their family. Teachers and students at Igorera expressed their shock over the drastic action which Isaboke took. They said he was active in co curricular activities at the school.

They however said he had appeared disturbed for the past three weeks. Gucha police chief Richard Ng’etich said the body was moved to Hema Hospital mortuary in Kisii town. Ng’etich expressed concern over rising cases of suicide in the area.
