Kisii pastor denies stealing Sh370,000 car

A pastor yesterday denied stealing a car worth Sh370,000 that had gone missing at a sales yard in Nairobi. The flying squad had tracked the vehilce in Kisii and found it in the custody of Julius Musau Mutunga of Revival Outreach Church. The car had disappeared at Ahadi motors yard according to the prosecution on September 27 and found being driven by the pastor in Kisii.

Mutunga will pay a cash bail of Sh200,000 for his release. He has been ordered to appear for the mentioning on October 27. The hearing begins on November 28. He has been sued by Michael Taifa who claims ownership of the car and has written statement with the CID to the effect that his car was allegedly sold at the yard without his consent. The pastor was brought to court under a warrant of arrest after he refused to present himself at CID headquarters for interrogation. His lawyer was allowed to get copies of evidence in preparation for the defense.
