Man kills brother in domestic row

A man went berserk and stabbed his brother to death in Gucha South district following a domestic row.

The brothers had gone on a drinking spree at Iringa sub location on Saturday afternoon when they reportedly differed over who was to inherit their brother’s wife.
Gucha OCPD Richard Ng’etich said after the quarrel, the elder brother armed himself with a machete and chased the other across the Iringa Primary school playing field into a nearby village.
He caught up with the deceased and killed him.

The suspect escaped on foot towards Rongo town with angry villagers in pursuit but he managed to escape.
Police visited the scene and moved the body to St Camillus Tabaka Mission Hospital.
Separately, police in Gucha rescued two suspected thieves from being lynched in Ogembo town.
The two middle-aged men were suspected to have been behind a spate of robberies and house break-ins in the town.

Residents accosted the suspects at a residential house where an assortment of household goods suspected to have been stolen were recovered.
A mob that gathered descended on the two with crude weapons injuring them seriously before police intervened.
