Nyamira misuse of mosquito nets

Public Health and Red Cross officials yesterday raised concern over the misuse of Malaria-treated mosquito nets by Nyamira county residents. Area Red Cross official Carol Mokaya and district public health officer James Omondi noted that some residents were using the nets to fence their kitchen gardens and make chicken cages. “The nets are supposed to help keep mosquitoes away and not to fence up gardens and make chicken cages. We advise them to use the nets for the purpose they are meant for,’  Mokaya said.
