George Moseti Anyona - the late former MP for Kitutu Masaba was a fiery politician whose career spanned two eras.
During the Kenyatta regime, he was the whistle blower for every scandal for which he was detained.
And in the Moi era, he was detained again for trying to form an alternative political party with Jaramogi Oginga Odinga to challenge Kanu's monopoly.
Out of detention, Mr Anyona was incarcerated together with former Runyenjes MP Njeru Kathangu on trumped up charges of belonging to the Mwakenya underground movement.
He rekindled his active political career with the re-introduction of multi-partyism and regained his Kitutu Masaba seat. He died in 2003.
John Simba... the chairman of the University of Nairobi Council is one of the leading pioneer administrators in the financial sector.
He ran the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation as its CEO for nearly a decade before moving to head the Parastatal Reform Commission.

Nyantika Maiyoro... now aged 79, is a sporting legend in Kenya. Running with bare feet at the Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, Canada in 1954, he won a gold medal for the then Kenya colony in the 5,000 metres.

John Sorana Akama... is the principal of the fast expanding Kisii University College, a constituent of Egerton University.
Naftali Temu... the late 10,000 metres runner was Kenya's gold medalist at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico.
Evans Aosa... is a business economist who teaches in the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Nairobi. He is an expert in strategic planning in Africa.
Winston Onsongo Marasi... is a civil engineer, formerly a lecturer at the University of Nairobi.
