ODM to hold Kitutu Masaba by-election primaries

ODM will carry out primaries in Kitutu Masaba constituency, party leader Raila Odinga has said. He said the election will be a rehearsal for 2012 and said the party will not leave anything to chance in their bid to win the seat. “We will do nomination here because this by election will be a dress rehearsal for 2012,” said the Prime Minister at Gekano Catholic Church in the constituency where he attended a service on Sunday.

Assistant minister for public health James Gesami demanded that proper nominations be done for ODM to win the seat. “For us to win the seat, we must conduct a proper nomination. This seat is ours for the taking,” said Gesami, the West Mugirango MP. He cautioned against giving a candidate direct nomination saying it will cost the party the seat. Area ODM chairman Timothy Bosire said he was confident of winning the seat. “We shall reclaim our seat which was stolen in the year 2007 so that we put a foundation towards proper leadership here,” added Bosire.
