A police officer arrested alongside three other criminals over terrorizing Nyamira residents.

An administration police officer has been arrested alongside three other criminals who have been terrorizing Nyamira residents.

The administration officer who is currently attached to Kipkelion District Commissioner’s office in Rift valley is alleged to have been terrossing residents at gun point at night.

The four who were in full police uniform were arrested at Miruka market on Thursday night where they had erected a road block and robbed motorists plying the area.

The criminals also raided the parking yard of H-young ,a road construction company where they beat two guard guarding the yard before police came to their rescue.

Confirming the incident, Nyamira police boss Mr Shadarak Maithya told reporters in his office, that when his officers were informed, together with the AP’s at Motobo chief’s camp they swung into action immediately where they laid an ambush and arrested the suspects.

Maithya said that officers managed to arrest the four as the rest disappeared adding that his officers were still on the ground tracking those who escaped dragnet.

He said that the vehicle which the criminals were using was also nabbed with extra police uniform in polythene paper and towed to Nyamira police station.

The police boss gave the name of the police officer arrested as Peter Osindi Masira whom he said is the ring leader of the group.

He thanked members of the public for volunteering information which has resulted to arrest of criminals in the area.
