Studies stop in Kisii as strike starts

Learning in most schools in the Kisii county was paralysed after teachers downed their tools as they joined the strike called by the Kenya National Union of Teachers. A survey conducted around the county by the Star revealed that many of the teachers never reported to work a day after talks between PM Raila Odinga and teachers representatives meant to avert the strike failed.In some institutions pupils who were unaware of the strike spent most of their time playing as they waited for teachers to turn up.
