Sameta School Principal Demoted

A principal of a troubled secondary school in Sameta district has been demoted and transferred.

Sameta High School principal Fred Sunda was moved to Rigena secondary in Nyamache as just a teacher and has now been replaced by Justus Nyang'au of Mochengo secondary. The demotion and transfer is a victory to the PAG church which was opposed to his posting from the word go.

Sunda is a Catholic and PAG wanted a principal of their faith to head the school. The move was taken by Nyanza provincial director of education Geoffrey Cherongis. Since Sunda's posting, three dormitories have been torched by suspected arsonists. Yesterday, several people condemned Sunda's demotion and transfer. Gucha Kenya Secondary School Heads Association chairman David Kebiro said the transfer is untimely.
