A civic leader in Nyamira county council attacked Eldoret North Mr William Ruto over what he termed as “meddling” in the council affairs.
Councilor Charles Aumbi said he was surprised and disappointed that Ruto has embarked on a mission of dividing the councilors by sponsoring coups at the council.
Aumbi said that the Kisii’s were still reeling from the wounds inflicted during the 2007 post elections violence and yet the Eldoret North MP wants to open fresh wounds.
The bitter civic leader asked Ruto to take a leading role in healing the bad relationship between the Kisii community and his Kalenjin community following the post election differences rather than engaging himself in other detrimental activities.
Speaking to reporters in Nyamira town, the civic leader asked Ruto to keep off matters of Nyamira county council.
Aumbi was reacting to press reports that Ruto was financing a section of the councilors in taking up the council leadership.
He reminded him that if he wants the country’s top seat, he should first demonstrate that he is capable of uniting Kenyans rather than dividing them.
He said it was more dangerous for him to divide the Kisii community which still casts a lot of doubt in his leadership following the post election violence.
