Form Four Student Stabbed to Death in Kisii Town Brawl

A form four student was last night stabbed to death by a university student in Mwembe estate in Kisii. Salim Sang, a student at Gusii Highlights High School, was allegedly killed by a second year student at Kisii University.

Kisii deputy police boss Isaac Meme said the 7 pm incident was reported by area assistant chief Joseph Ayieka. Meme said the motive of the killing had not been established.

He said police recovered a knife with blood stains in the house of the suspect's neighbour. "The deceased was staying with his family at the estate when the incident happened. We are yet to establish the motive of the killing," Meme said.

The police chief said the suspect has since surrendered himself to the police. "The suspected surrendered himself at the police station this morning and will be helping the police with investigations," he said.

Meme warned the public against taking the law into their hands. He said it is unfortunate to lose such a young person who was preparing to sit the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

He urged the youth to use the right channels to solve their differences. "We want to ask the youth to use the right channels in solving any disputes that might arise instead of taking somebody's live," he said.
