An international art symposium starts in Kisii County on Monday.
The month-long event, dubbed African Stones Talk, is sponsored by Unesco, and will be held at Tabaka.
Ten internationally renowned artists, who were selected in May, will participate in the symposium.
The selection was done by a jury, whose chairman, Mr Elkana Ong’esa, is also president of the Pan-African Association of Visual Arts.
International sculptors taking part in the event are Li Dongliang (China), Hany Faisal (Egypt), Renate Verbrugge (New Zealand), Yasushi Hori (Japan), Goerge Kockoth (South Africa), Tzetunka Koykova (Bulgaria) and John Barlow Hurdson (USA).
Addressing the press, Mr Ong’esa said before the official launch of the symposium, a cultural conference will be held at Kisii University College for three days.
“Professionals will address key policy and technical issues in conservation and promotion of cultural values,” Mr Ong’esa said.
