Anti-Graft Team Urged to Probe Co-Operative Societies

he Anti-Corruption Police Unit has been invited to investigate farmers' cooperative societies in parts of Nyanza Province.

About 60 newly elected coffee directors from Kisii, Gucha Nyamira and Rachuonyo districts claimed that most of the farmers' assets had been run down by their predecessors.

Mr Peter Makongoso, the Kisii district co-operative officer, asked the new officials to co-operate with the anti-graft team and unearth scandals that had hit the coffee industry.

The directors made the resolution after they re-elected Mr Stephen Ogamba unopposed as their chairman.

Mr Ogamba asked the police to investigate a racket where large tracts of Simbauti farm had allegedly been sold.
