The Church claimed that corrupt school heads were being protected by the Provincial Administration and senior education officials in Nyamira, Gucha and Kisii districts.
In a statement signed by four priests, and the diocesan education secretary Christopher Osinde, the church expressed concern that the education standards in the region will continue to dwindle if the issues the Church raised were not addressed adequately.
The statement issued to the press yesterday in Kisii was signed by priests Juma Mogaka, who is also the vicar general, Fr Apolinaris Masese, Fr Lawrence Nyanga and Fr Lawrence Mandere.
"Public schools are dying out and academies taking over even when some of them are run in pathetic premises," said the statement.
The Church further accuse the ministry of education of defending six principals of schools who have failed to manage their institution sponsored by the Church.
The schools whose administration want changed in clued St Peters Nyakimincha, St Anatoli Nyanchori, Gikendo, Gichuni, St Pauls Igonga and Irondi secondary schools.
The priests said that all promotions should be done on merit but not on nepotism if education standards in the three Kisii districts were to be improved.
