Gusii Women to Vie for Seats

Women from the three Gusii districts, Nyamira, Kisii and Gucha will field one of their own to contest parliamentary seats in all the 10 constituencies in the area.

Former nominated MP, Mrs Catherine Nyamato, also said that they will also field a woman contender in every civic ward in the three districts.

Mrs Nyamato, who is also the national chairman of Federation of Women Groups, asked the women in the three districts to take advantage of their numbers in voting in one of their own. She said women have decided to go into politics full blast.

She said male politicians have messed the country and should not be given another chance. Nyamato also declared that she will contest the West Mugirango parliamentary seat, currently held by Mr Henry Obwocha.
