Kisii Lawyer Censured in Sh1m Suit

A Keroka based medical doctor was yesterday under fire at the High Court for defending an over Sh1 million fraud case while at the same time denying he is the accused. Dr J Kumenda came under fire when his lawyer J O Maranga told Commercial Judge John Mwera that Mary Leonard Wanjiku the plaintiff in the case had sued the wrong person.

But Wanjiku's lawyer Martin Nyaga challenged the doctor's lawyer to tell the court why his client had entered defence if he was not the accused. Nyaga charged that the doctor acted as the director of Afya and Willma Pharmaceutical-a fake company - to defraud Wanjiku of Sh505,000.
