"Kanu will hold its elections when the officials deem it necessary but not to end wrangles created by a few individuals," Mr. Nassir said.
Mr. Nassir said that Kanu would breath a "sigh of relief" once the embattled ex-minister defected from the ruling party.
Mr. Nassir, who officiated at the opening of the Changamwe Muslim Youth Association Madrassa and nursery school at Kwa Hola in Magongo, however warned that the "political marriage" between Mr. Nyachae and Mr. Matiba would mark the end of Mr. Nyachae's political era.
Mr. Nassir, who is the Minister for Home Affairs, termed as outrageous the scathing sentiments voiced by Mr. Nyachae against the Head of State and Kanu.
In a surprise move, a group of people in Gucha District have elected an interim caretaker committee to coordinate the establishment of a Kanu branch in the area.
According to the group's elected organising secretary, Mr. Nahashon Oyaro, the elections conducted at Nyamarambe divisional headquarters settled for names that were accepted although the officials were absent.
In a related development, an Assistant Minister for Energy, Col (rtd) Ronald Kiluta, has reiterated his call for Kanu to call for elections in order to weed out deadwood.
He said those calling shots at the party headquarters were political rejects who should be removed.
