Two advocates criticise Anyona over remarks

Kitutu Masaba MP George Anyona was yesterday asked to stop playing reconciliator to a "non-existent feud in Kisii as the community is more united than ever before".

He was also urged to be more transparent and operate publicly if he wanted to make any positive contribution to Kisii politics.

In a faxed statement, two Nairobi-based advocates, Mr. Charles Nyachae and Mr. James Ogeto, said Mr. Anyona's belated concern over former minister Simeon Nyachae's woes was hypocritical and uncalled for.

The two were reacting to remarks in the Press attributed to Mr. Anyona yesterday.

They termed "self-defeating" Mr. Anyona's assertion that people criticising President Moi were abusive to him.
