"Let them throw out the Speaker and we will mobilise Kenyans to exert pressure on President Kibaki to dissolve Parliament immediately," Mr Cyprian Nyamwamu, an official with the National Convention Executive Council (NCEC), told a meeting in Kisii District.

His views were echoed by leaders from other parts of the country. From Kisumu, businessman and Narc activist Onyango K'Oyoo said the MPs planning the vote of no confidence against Mr Kaparo would not succeed because Kenyans would rise against them.Mr Kaparo drew the wrath of MPs when he said on Thursday said that many legislators were selfish, dishonest and parochial and had failed the nation."The MPs should swallow their pride and accept the reality. What Mr Kaparo said represents the feelings of Kenyans," Mr K'Oyoo told the Nation.
In Nairobi, the Anglican Church of Kenya provincial secretary, Bishop William Waqo said: "The Speaker must have noted some things with the MPs. He knows them better than anybody else."Those who were planning to censure Mr Kaparo should ask him to substantiate his claims, he said.
Leaders in Kisii, Nyamira and Gucha districts also dared the MPs to pass a vote of no confidence in the speaker. They were led by the Nyamira Knut branch executive secretary Richard Kibagendi, Kanu's Manson Oyongo and Mr Nyamwamu.Mr Kibagendi said: "We are sending a warning to our MPs to stop their emotional reactions to what Mr Kaparo told them. They should instead take the observation as a mirror to assess their conduct and performance".
Mr Oyongo, Kanu's deputy national organising secretary, said the MPs spearheading the onslaught against the speaker were none performers.Mr Nyamwamu, speaking at a public forum organised by the NCEC, said the speaker's assessment of the MPs was accurate."The majority of Kenyans are disgusted with the MPs' performance and the speaker was speaking on behalf of millions of voiceless Kenyans," said the Kisii deputy mayor, Mr Lukas Ongaki.
In Eldoret, two politicians, Mr Benjamin Letting and Daniel Tabut said the MPs focused more on uplifting their lives while ignoring their voters.Mr Letting said many voters were living in poverty because MPs had not come up with strategies to reduce poverty in their constituencies.
Mr Tabut said lack of quorum in Parliament was a clear sign that MPs are not serious with their work. The Homa Bay Kanu branch Executive Officer, Mr Onam Ogada also supported Mr Kaparo.Mr Ogada said many MPs were corrupt and practised tribalism and nepotism."This is evident from the way they are handling the constituency development and bursary funds", said Mr Ogada.
