Others in the team are Stephen Manoti, Atebe Marita, Nyarangi Moturi and Zephania Anyieni. They criticised those threatening to evict the Kisii living in other parts of the country following Mr. Nyachae's declaration that he was going for the top seat.
"With Nyachae's announcement, which has come at the right time, we also declare that we have started the campaign in his support first at home and then throughout the country," they said.
Mr. Nyachae would not seek the Presidency on a Kanu ticket and ruling party officials should therefore stop hitting out at him, they said.
"We ask Joseph Kamotho, Kalonzo Musyoka, Shariff Nassir and others to leave Nyachae alone," they said. "The question of de-whipping him is not an issue and will not stop him from vying for presidency."
They defended the former minister against corruption accusations, saying: "He is among the few not involved in corrupt practices as evidenced by the Kombo parliamentary report."
The leaders dismissed Kitutu Masaba MP George Anyona as "a hand to mouth opportunist and democrat with no vision".
They told the Kisii MPs opposed to Mr. Nyachae's presidential ambitions to stop maligning him and instead concentrate on serving Kenyans in their respective government positions.
