Eight in Court Over Kisii Chiefs' Murder

Eight people were charged with the murder of two chiefs in Suneka Division of Kisii District.

Mosandi Ward Councillor Livingstone Omoke Bomwanda Sub-chief John Chore, former Chief Henry Mokua, and a former journalist Peter Makori were among the eight suspects who appeared before Kisii Senior Resident Magistrate Samuel Soita.

Omoke, Chore and Makori were jointly charged with the murder of Bokeire Sub-chief, Mr Benson Barini on July 8. In the other charge, Omoke, Mokua, Keffa Orang'i, Getange, Boniface Machage, Kince Marando and Evans Omari Sianyo were charged with the murder of the Bomorenda Chief, Mr Joseph Ombasa, on the same day
