Autopsy Reveals Anyona Died From Chest Injuries

An autopsy carried on the body of former Kitutu Masaba legislator George Moseti Anyona showed that he died of internal bleeding and severe chest injuries. According to Anyona's elder brother Stephenson Mageto, Anyona sustained broken ribs and his liver was damaged during the Tuesday night accident accident.

Present at the autopsy were his wife Esther and their eldest son Kwame. The family lawyer Dennis Abincha and relative Walter Nyambati were also at the hospital. Mageto said a family meeting will decide where the former legislator will be buried although they expected that he will be laid to rest in his rural Kitutu Masaba home.

Elsewhere, a committee to oversee burial arrangement of the Kenya Social Congress leader was formed. The committee comprising of 37 members mostly party officials will be chaired by KSC national organising secretary John Bonyi. Briefing the Press after a meeting at Anyona's home in Magombo village, Nyamira District, Bonyi said the body will be viewed in Nairobi tomorrow. Separately, leaders from Nyamira District have petitioned the Government to honour Anyona in recognition of his service to Kenya. They said Anyona played a key role in moulding the politics of the country and therefore, need special recognition.
