Three dead and Other wounded in Kisii

In Kisii, two brothers who responded to a distress call by a neighbour were on Tuesday evening shot dead and three others wounded when armed thugs raided a shopping centre.
Eyewitnesses said that one of the victims died on the spot while the other died on the way to hospital. The target of the raid, Mr Richard Monda, who lost Sh100,000 to the gang, was rushed to Kisii general hospital with a bullet wound on the head. Also admitted with him at the hospital is his 8-year-old son who was shot on the left leg. His wife Margaret, who sustained a machette cut on the hand, was treated and discharged. A fourth victim, Mr Pius Mochama, was also treated for bullet wounds. They identified the dead as Joseph Aminga and Michira Gwaro Masongo whose bodies are lying at Gucha and Hema private hospital mortuaries respectively. Monda said that the thugs numbering about 8 stormed his shop at Nyamasibi trading centre at 7.30pm while brandishing rifles and demanding cash."I obliged and gave them the money but before leaving my wife raised an alarm to which those shot dead responded to," he told the press.
He said that they group four of whom donned complete police regalia and a berets turned on the family members shooting indiscriminately.The thugs then disappeared into darkness as other villagers arrived to rescue them. Medics at the hospital said the victims were out of danger.
