An attempt by Kisii Municipal Council to allocate public toilets to traders has landed two senior officials in court. Town Clerk Eric Simiyu and engineer Joseph Mugania, represented by lawyer Bosire Gichana appeared before Chief Magistrate Jacob Ombonya.
They were charged that between August 14 and 21, this year at the giant Nyamira/Nyambera bus park, they failed to re-install sanitary fittings and rebuild partitioning walls that had been demolished in the public toilets. The recent incident saw a group of councillors storm the premises and evict people, they claimed, had been allocated the buildings.
