Showdown Looms At Omanga Funeral

A major political showdown is anticipated among Gusii MPs under the leadership of Simeon Nyachae and former Kanu legislators during tomorrow's burial of veteran politician Andrew Omanga.

It will be interesting to see how Nyachae will share the platform with politicians perceived to be his political rivals in Gusiiland, including Chris Obure, Prof Sam Ongeri, Joseph Kiangoi, Sammy Nyamweya and Richard Onyonka.

The Ford People leader has never seen eye-to-eye with former Kanu legislators since the last General Election. The politicians have publicly blamed Nyachae for their defeat.

Nyachae, who has actively been involved in the burial arrangements, may have a say on the list of speakers. Omanga will be buried at his Nyansiongo home in North Mugirango.
