"All the ODM presidential aspirants will live up to their word to support the winner of presidential nomination next month. I’m no exception, I will play along with that rule," he said.
"We are gaining momentum with time and when we hit the road to State House, nothing will stop the ODM-Kenya team. It will be a double tsunami for Kibaki and those supporting his re-election bid," the Lang’ata MP said. He hinted that tracing of the billions of shillings looted through the Goldenberg and Anglo Leasing scandals was a priority.
Raila said he was confident of bagging the ODM ticket and urged other aspirants to join him in trouncing President Kibaki at the General Election, due later in the year.
Said he, "Leaders from this region have made a political statement at a declaration in Awendo that they will vote for me. But some of our leaders have joined our opponents”.
MPs, Mr Omingo Magara, Mr Ochilo Ayacko and parliamentary aspirants Mr James Ogendo and Mr Timothy Bosire accompanied Raila.
Magara and Bosire said the Abagusii would not bank on Ford-People leader, Nyachae, as the barometer for their political destination.
"We have decided that Nyachae and his party will not stand between us and our resolve to support Raila to bring the presidency to Nyanza Province for the first time in 44 years of independence," Bosire said.
Magara, who is also the ODM Kenya national treasurer, said there was a scheme by Ford-People to antagonise the Kisii and Luo.
