Onyangi Wins Cross Country Title

In the men's category, Moses Nkeiywa of Kisii District clocked 25:10 to lift the Nyanza Provincial cross-country title. Nkeiywa won the boy's 8km. He led from the beginning to the end to beat his closest challenger Joseph Onsarigo who took second position in 25:24. Another Kisii athlete Peter Gwaro clocked 25.36.45 to finish third.
Runners from Kisii, Gucha and Nyamira Districts dominated cross-country, decathlon and heptathlon with Kisii winning the overall title. In decathlon, Kiprono Kosgey of Eronge PAG in Nyamira scored 5,520 to beat Dancan Owiti of Suba to second position with 5,299 points. Bernard Ondieki of Enkinda came third with 5,271 points, while Uriri's Evans Owiyo was fourth with 4, 880. Boera Jackson of Kisii was fifth with 4,878 points.
Regina Mose of Nyanturago High clinched the heptathlon title with 3,737 points and was followed by Masimba High's Linet Areba who scored 3,619 points. Lydiah Rasugu of Nyota Secondary finished third with 3,564 points, while Sylin Onsarigo of Masimba was fourth with 3,564 points.
