Armed Gang Raid Sansora

Six armed gangsters on Sunday raided Sansora Bakery and confectioneries and escaped with more than Sh500,000.

The Kisii-based company belongs to former finance minister and Nyaribari Chache MP, Mr Simeon Nyachae.

The criminals, who were armed with pistols, machetes and iron bars struck at around 7.30pm.

Acting Kisii police boss, Mr Stanley Lamai, said the thugs ordered the workers to lie down before proceeding to the cashier's office where they took Sh541,000, mobile phones and a radio cassette player.

No arrest had been made by midday yesterday.

Some of the workers said the hoodlums had gained entry into the premises from the background and seemed to had been in the company of other people who remained outside the premises.

The incident comes less than a month after another band of thugs raided a cold drinks depot located in the same area and escaped with hundreds of thousands of shillings.
