A body, identified as that of Charles Tongei, is lying at the Akemo Hospital mortuary with an arrow still lodged in it.
The clashes were sparked by the killing of two people from the Kisii community in Transmara last week as they were harvesting maize.
A boy, Oseko Nyambane, was shot by an AP at Nyabitunwa as fighting raged between the two communities.
He was rushed to Tabaka Mission Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
Fighting has been going on at Kiango, Nyabitunwa, Nyangoso, Nyacheki and Geteri in the last three days.
Efforts by Cabinet Ministers Julius Sunkuli and Prof Sam Ongeri to calm down the tension and reconcile the two communities have failed.
When the Nation visited Nyangoso, Kiango and Nyabitunwa, the situation had been brought under control as heavily armed General Service Unit and Regular and Administration Police patrolled the area around the clock.
Gucha police boss Burudi Makokha told the Nation that security had been beefed up to avert further clashes.
People interviewed on the border criticised the government for failing to arrest those who killed the two people in Transmara last week "though they are known."
They accused some politicians from the two communities of fanning tribal animosity for political gain.
"Some politicians from the two communities are trying to antagonise us because elections are just around the corner so that they can achieve their ends," said Mzee Ongige Misati.
Meanwhile, two Kisii MPs yesterday demanded an inquiry into the shooting to death of a 12-year-old by police last Monday.
Mr Jimmy Angwenyi of Kitutu-Chache and Mr Zebedeo Opore of Bonchari also challenged the police to say why they had not arrested any suspect over the killing of 10 people in the past two months.
They said that the policeman who shot the boy while pursuing criminals near Nyakoe market should be charged. Sandaroli Kenyenga was shot dead as police exchanged fire with gangsters.
The MPs said that insecurity in the three Kisii districts could be stopped if the police acted swiftly on information given by the public.
In connection with the fatal shooting of Cllr Milka Nyaosi, the two MPs said that the public was watching keenly to see what action the government will take given that she was the wife of a senior police officer and an elected leader.
They said the police had upto now taken anybody to court in connection with the killing of Mrs Nyaosi and yet the deceased had named three of the people who shot her before she died.
They appealed to the residents of Kisiis three districts to assist the police by volunteering to give information on suspects.
They assured them that elected leaders from the districts were consulting and would soon hold a leaders' meeting to address the issue of insecurity in the three districts.
